Speeding Ticket Advice- I was pulled over doing 41 in a 25. Problem is the road is a 30 mph street.?

The entire street (it is not very long) is marked as 30mph. What should I plead in court??Speeding Ticket Advice- I was pulled over doing 41 in a 25. Problem is the road is a 30 mph street.?
The only thing I can think of why it was put as being a 25 zone is maybe there was a school zone nearby and they were just letting out.

If that isn't the case you could fight the ticket in court, but bring in evidence of the street being a 30 mph zone instead of a 25mph like take a picture of the street including the sign, a close up of the sign itself, and maybe the street signs. Maybe bring in a person that lives on the street to testify that it has always been a 30mph zone. I'm sure the pictures will help though. Fighting tickets in court does help, but you must bring evidence to back yourself up.

Most states have fines based on how excessive the speed was. Since you're being ticketed for doing 16 over the limit, when in fact you were doing 11 over the limit, then your fine will at least be reduced on that basis alone. Be ready to provide evidence of the actual speed limit and you just might be lucky enough to have the entire ticket dismissed. After all, a mistake about the speed limit may also be a mistake about your speed. That's purely a flip of the coin based on the judge's mood, but worth a try, don't you think?

Plead not guilty on the basis that the speed limit was NOT 25. See where it takes you from there. If you're asked whether you were doing 41, answer that you don't know. If you were, you were unaware of it, since you don't continuously watch your speedometer. If asked if it's possible, only answer that anything IS possible, but don't answer that it's possible you were doing 41.

You have the right to be as evasive as you want. It's up to them to prove you're guilty, not up to you to prove you're not. And there's already ONE mistake in their testimony, which makes the rest suspect. In court, NO mistake is simple or tiny or irrelevant, no matter what some 'cops' on here try to say.
I would plead no contest. That means that you are not pleading guilty or not guilty just throwing urself on the mercy of the court. You will still pay a fine, go to traffic school etc, but you wont have a guilty on your record.

At trial, if you were to fight the ticket based on the technicality of the mistake on the mph stated on the cite, all the officer would have to do is make an amendment in court reflecting the actual mph...
Nice try son. The only plead you have is guilty. Take your lumps, learn your lesson and think about your future driving skills in a residential area. If you had hit a child doing 41 in a 30, (or 25) you'd be looking thru bars right about now.
plead... STUPIDITY. You said you were doing 41mph in a 25 mph hour zone. Thats fine. Then you say, the problem is the road was a 30mph zone. Do you see the problem with that statement? Probably no, cuz you're stupid. So plead it!
So regardless of the posted speed limit, you were still speeding, by your own admission. Plead guilty and pay the fine or ask to take defensive driving/traffic school.
