Christian advice on this problem? Cant get thoughts out of my head.?

Lately I have been having this bad thought that keeps coming to my mind. i do not know how to get rid of it and it is affacting my everyday life. I feel like i have sinned every time I think of it, and I ask forgiveness constantly every time. This is preventing me sometimes from concentrating in class. I feel like my prayers begin to mean less after I reapeat them over and over in a day. I feel like if I don't ask forgiveness immediately afetr the though, if something happens that I might not go to Heaven. I cant forget it now, so it is going to continue to come back, and I am basically living in fear and it is really bothering me. How can I make it go away?Christian advice on this problem? Cant get thoughts out of my head.?
Three approaches.

1 Die to it. It can have no effect upon a dead man. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

3 Fill your mind with positive thoughts and so drive it out and give it no room. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

When afflicted, the more you think on God, His wonder, His goodness and mercy, the more the thought is rendered both ineffective and its design is countered and turned to good.Christian advice on this problem? Cant get thoughts out of my head.?
God knows you are not liking this thought that keeps coming into your head. He knows that you are only human and that you cannot control it, also he knows you are sorry for your prayers. Ask him to continue to help you with these thoughts and that you continue to think about it and dont want to and that your sorry. He knows you are sorry and he will help you with your problem. If you are saved then no matter what you will go to Heaven. God will not turn his back on you in hard times.
what helps me in those instances is I ask myself do I really feel this way? Would I really act on these thoughts. The answer is more than likely going to be no. You have to face this head on. Tell yourself the real truth and communicate yourself to God. He already knows you better than you know yourself. Also what helps me is to serve which is more than likely the opposite of your bad thoughts. Support how you feel by witnessing to someone or talking to a fellow Christian. I chose not to share the exact problem with my fellow christians becasue i didnt want to make my problem theirs. It will get easier to dismiss your thoughts as rediculas the stronger you grow in Christ and it wont bother you as much later on . You will be fine. God bless.
Sounds like you're concentrating on it, which is a sure way to get it to stick around.

I used to do this...I would feel awful all day long because of the things I'd done wrong. Eventually I asked myself ';When do I turn repentance for sins into gratitude for their forgiveness?';

This was a turning point for me. Much more relaxed and enjoying the blessings these days. Doesn't mean I should accept sin, but I should accept the forgiveness, and it sounds like you should, too.
That is the work of the enemy; even the slightest crack is an invitation for him and his minions to work their garbage on you. Keep doing what you are in asking for forgiveness, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you in keeping the enemy away. Also, do not be repetitive in your prayers - that is something that God considers an abomination; ask prayers in His will to be done :]
When I've had thoughts popping into my mind that I know are wrong, I realize that Satan is trying to bug me. Being Tempted isn't sin -- giving into the temptation is. Tell Satan to get out of your brain --

The only thing that will keep you from going to Heaven is failure to accept Christ as your Savior.

There is a verse in Philippians 4:8 that says to meditate on / think about those things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report - anything praiseworthy - virtuous.

Another verse says that there is no temptation that God can't help you overcome.
Once you asked for forgiveness just ONCE then there is NO need to do it again. Dont feel like you have to forgive continiously for the same sin. He already forgave you. But You dont need to forget about your sin because thats human. But just remember that since you asked for forgiveness, your are clean again. Every sin is equal in Gods eyes. You cant get over your sin because it was obviously pretty bad, but God sees your sin like everybody elses. Just RELAX. God wants you to be happy. Everybody messes up.
Tommy, thoughts are not sins, so stop beating yourself up. And you don't need to ask forgiveness for something you have no control over. But if this is troubling you (and clearly it is), focus on asking God to help you understand why it's happening, and ask Him what you should do about it. Obviously, trying to solve it on your own hasn't worked. So let Him help. He loves you more than you can imagine, and He will help you.
It makes me Absolutely sick when I hear things like this

You've been feeling guilty for your thoughts!? take a step back and think about that for a second, you've been brainwashed into feeling guilt for living.. and let me tell you from personal experience that, that is no way to live.

Think about it, there are alternatives, and I hope you come to this realization

good luck
you need to let God take your fear into his hands. it doesnt matter if you ask for forgiveness right after you have the thought of sin of a month later. everyone sins and the fact that you are repenting is more then many christians can say. just know that you always have God to back you up. let him take care of it and relax..everything happens for a reason
Friend,

Your forgiveness is secured in the Resurrection of Christ. Through Christ, God has deemed you righteous. When He looks on you, He sees Christ in you (not your though or your sin).

Find your assurance here: Christ lived, died, and was raised on the third day.

We are saved by grace through faith, and faith itself is a gift from God. Hebrews teaches that Christ Himself is both the author and perfecter of our faith!!

We will struggle with sin, but when we do we must not look to ourselves, but always to the Risen Christ, and we will find in HIm our assurance!
Be in prayer each day when you first get up.

';Subit yourself unto God, and Satan will flee from you.';

It's an important concept.

First submit to God and then Satan will be less likely to bug you later on.

';Flee youthful lusts';

';Bring every though into the captivity of Christ.';

And continue tp pray. Continue to confess your sin to God.

God never tires of hearing our prayers.

And, He never tires of forgiving a confessed sin.

1 John 1:9
Replace it when it come to you with a song.

One thought not indulged will not affect you, live a righteous life, it is the accumulation of faith and deeds done that shapes your life.
If you have repented your sins, believe that Jesus died for your sin and have asked Him to be Lord of your life, you will go to Heaven.

Read your Bible every day.

Develope your prayer life.

Fellowship with other believers.
The idea is known within Christianity as ';logismoi';, meaning ';thought';. It is a thought that enters your mind that gets ';between'; you and God. The only cure for it is to try to ignore it.

I've heard some pretty bad ones.
Don't worry, masturbation is ok, it's part of growing up and self-discovery
Just say a Hail Mary prayer whenever the thought comes to you.

Satan and his mob can't stand the mention of her name.

It works!
Me too!!! It is hurting me inside. I feel like I cant do anything right...and that I am going to hell for anything I do.

I'm scared...

people keep telling me ways to be saved...idk. Im afraid
You NEED to pray to God to ask him to help you with your problems, and you must have faith in him.
What is the nature of this thought

x
I think you have to start rellying on faith more than on your flesh. read the word of God as much as you can, and put it in your heart, and believe it, and God will be with you. also if is something that you try real hard to make go away, then you are doing just fine, God will not punish for that if you are not doing it willingly. but remember you can't do anything in your own sthrength, you need to trust in God's promises. well, I'll keep u in my prayers and may He be with you, keep on keeping on. bye. I also want to add that you do not loose your salvation only because you have sinned. when you sin, dont remain defeated, get up and keep going.
If the thoughts are not intentional, then do not worry about them. They are probably merely temptations, and temptations are not sins. If you wish to obtain a true peace in your heart, I recommend praying the rosary regularly. See the following promises.

The rosary is explained here:

http://www.sancta.org/rosary/how.html

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.

9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

God bless!

Dave
Well, your problem is that you think that if you sin and dont repent then you wont go to heaven. This is a lie. If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, all your sins have been forgiven. Now I am not saying that you shouldn't ask Gods forgiveness for when you sin. Im just saying that your fear of going to Hell if you dont pray and ask God to forgive you is wrong. First of all God has not given us the spirit of fear. Second, you might want to check your heart and really ask your self ';am i saved'; because if you not then you do have something to worry about. But if you are then its all good! God will forgive you, and if you dont repent right away your not going to die and go to Hell. Once your saved you are in Gods hand and no one or nothing can take you out of it. Not even yourself.
Oh my gosh, I just had this problem!

Satan is trying to make you believe that you actually believe this and that the Spirit is not in you. I think the Lord is allowing this to happen to test you and help you grow in faithfulness. rebuke the devil verbally in Jesus name, reclaim your mind and declare you are a child of God! I was being plaqued by extremely bad thoughts that made me want to die, made me doubt my status of being saved, and wether or not i loved God. By seeking the Lord, he showed me i was being opressed and that the thoughts I was having needed to be combated. He told me:

A. That the opression started due to the fact I was still getting high, even after the Lord made it clear it was time to stop. The message was, as bad as I think these thoughts are is how bad a drunken mind is to God.

B. That I needed to put on the full armor of the Lord, Ephesians 6:13-17, and NOT TO WAVER IN MY FAITH. To lean on Jesus and entrust the battle to Him.

C. The Lord told me HE DID NOT despise me, He knows I was being oppressed. Remember we have been bought at a price, and do not let satan make you believe you have lost your salvation.

I want to add that I had these thoughts for a while, and at first I was extremely ashamed and horrified by myself, and I tried to hide my shame from God, He blessed me and showered me in His Love and Mercy when I went into my room and I got on my knees and I presented to Him my mind and confessed, asking forgiveness and to be healed. I then did the same with my heart.

I want to remind you that the world we live in is one that is incredibley filthy and perverse. I recently was listening to a popular comedian performing in madison square garden that was joking about children being molested, to the roar of laughter. Of course it wasn't meant literally, but what do you think the Holy One hears?...everyday we laugh at sickening things that come to us in the form of comedy or ';no big deal'; from every direction...I want you to know that the Holy Spirit is working in you, and that is exactly why satan is opressing you, DON'T Let him! You tell him who is boss, and thats your Father, JESUS!

I had the exact same feeling about heaven too. It's a lie. Praise the Lord when you feel it coming and it will stop, you can also recite philippians 4:7-9, ';and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will gaurd your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. The things which you learned and recieved and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace be with you.

Amen, my brother, peace and grace to you in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
@:I feel like i have sinned every time I think of it, and I ask forgiveness constantly every time. ';

WHEN YOU FEEL THAT THOUGHT COMING ON...[STOP]. INSTEAD OF THINKING ABOUT IT [RIGHT THEN] BEGIN TO THANK THE FATHER [LITERALLY]....JUST DO IT.

IT'S A COUNTER-ATTACK...START THINKING ABOUT HOW HE HELP YOU IN SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE...CHANGE [YOUR] THOUGHT PROCESS.

THINK ON SOMETHING BETTER.

...[AS SOON AS THAT BAD THOUGHT TRY TO GET IN.';

PRAY...SAYING, ';FATHER I LOVE YOU AND NEED YOU IN MY LIFE.

WE ARE IN A [SPIRITUAL WARFARE]...IT IS REAL.

YOU ARE EXPERIENCING IT.

WHEN YOU ACCEPTED HIM AS YOUR SACRIFICE; YOU ALREADY ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS.

THAT WAS THE POINT OF ACCEPTING HIM.

NOW IT'S ABOUT BEING THANKFUL TO HIM...

BE THANKFUL....ALWAYS.

THAT NEGATIVE THOUGHT WILL HAVE NO PLACE.

YOU WILL FEEL BETTER.

DON'T DOUBT ANYMORE OF YOUR SALVATION; HE IS SURE.
Tommy,

A thought that comes into your head is not a sin, but a temptation. It becomes a sin when you like that idea, such as contemplating how you will carry it out, regardless of whether you actually carried it out (Matt. 4:27-28).

God will not make the temptation go away forever, but will restrict it to no more than you can bear and always provide you the means to escape it (I Cor. 10:13).

Not being fully prayed up for all sins at death will not determine where you will spend eternity. The US tax code has several volumes describing how much income tax we owe. The Bible is different. Several times it sums up in one sentence how to cover all your sin debts and live eternally in heaven. Believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins, and you will be saved from condemnation in hell (John 3:15, 16, 17, 18 et. al.).
You are on the right track for praying over this thought. You need to ask God to give you peace in your thoughts because our God is not a God of confusion. Your prayers are not meaningless look at a 5 year old child praying over her doll because it's sick, look at a child again praying over a paper cut. God takes everyones prayers seariously. Yes it may take a little while to answer sometimes but you have to have faith and trust in God. If you are a born again christian you will go to heaven you don't have to worry as long as you repent from your sins, but you just can't keep doing it over and over. In the bible it says I will throw away your sins as far as the east is form the west. He forgets them because of the price he paid on the cross we are forgiven. God does not give you the spirit of fear you have power over anything that may come against you in life. We are constantly in a battle and as long as you have our savior on your side you can do all things through christ who strenghtens you, the enemy tries t oattack you he knows your strengths and weaknesses he knows what will make us fall you just have to try to stand against temptation. Do not be afraid but trust in the Lord your God. It would really help me to know whats bothering you you can email me at ja_arison@yahoo.com. I hope you may feel better in how you feel email me if you want to talk.
rebuke the thought in jesus name and renounce the thought. and renounce the sin that it is attached to, repent. and the bible says to take your thoughts captive and that is what you are responsible for. demons will often bring thoughts to our mind, like a fishermand throwing out bait to see what you will bite on. thats all it is. so if you are giving ourself over to it, then they will just keep doing it to cause you to stumble. what you need to do is go for a walk and talk to Jesus about wher e your spiritual life has been and start walking in the authority that you have been given. and start walking in obedience to the lordship of Jesus. the word says that if we commit our works unto the Lord, then our thoughts will be established. so commit your works unto the Lord.
It's suggesting that the Christ energy is a vibe coming from the center of the galaxy that has a transformative effect on human consciousness. The mind does what it does, thinks without your consciousness. Your mind is a conditioned manifested machine and it is everything you can see, think, feel, your personality structure~ all of that. The unmanifest or the unconditioned is not about what you see, but what is seeing. It's not about your thoughts, but what's awake to your thoughts. It's not about your feelings, but rather the direct experience of what is awake to your feelings. This direct experience cannot be grasped. There may be sight, but what is the direct experience of that which sees the sight? There may be a mind trying to understand, but there is also an awareness that is prior to the mind trying to understand.You are not your personal stories or drama. Once you realize what you are beyond your personal identity than you will see within what your true nature is. When you realize your true nature without a identity (name) that your parents gave you as a child (label) than the ';ahhh...'; will awaken. Then there's the beginning of an exploration of the infinite within your heart and pineal gland.
I think the best thing you can do is make the Christianity go away.
